This is called the fifth flavour and is great. Can buy (other brands) as a paste. This powder can be used as a sprinkler to add flavour after cooking or to the cooking pot/ pan. Great in soups too

I bought this because I do a lot of chinese cooking, and I can't use MSG, it turns my guts inside out (that's what it feels like) so I'd heard mushroom powder was a substitute. But, this stuff is basically salt, sugars and yeast extract, with included MSG type flavour enhancers. I don't dare try it. 3% mushroom does not mushroom powder make. Real good flavour of mushrooms I. Can’t eat mushrooms due to illness but I do like the flavour so this suits. Fine

This is described as PREMIUM Mushroom powder and shows a picture of whole mushrooms. Yet, only contains 3% mushroom. How can that be Premium ? It is definitely NOT Umami! The main ingredient is Salt (38.2), followed by Sugars (19%). Use of the words PREMIUM & UMAMI are mis-leading! I thought I was getting a Premium Mushroom product. Not a tub of Salt & Sugars which are extremely unhealthy.

I use this to add flavour to many dishes, and it also makes a nice quick cup of soup by adding either milk or cream, or using hot milk instead of water.

Good quality but just on the pricey side
