Q: Why does this set off my fire alarm even though there is no smoke?

Either the battery is low or, there is dust in the unit. Every time I change the batteries, I use a hand held vacuum to go over both the inside and the outside. I learned this after we had some construction done and the alarm went off. The contractor vacuumed them.

Q: Does it have holes to drain?

No it does not have holes in it.

Q: Can you use this with an air fryer that doesn't have a basket included?

If the basket will fit in there, I wouldn’t think it would be a problem, but my fryer has a basket, so I can’t say absolutely!

Q: How to clean? It's very hard even if you soak it.

I do let it soak in hot soapy water for a while, then dump the water, rinse it and stick it in the dishwasher. After many uses, I admit that it does have some discoloration here and there, but it comes out of the dishwasher clean, no greasy residue.
