Too powerful for birdbath - drains water
I really want to love this solar fountain. It works really well, however, no matter which nozzle I use, the fountain is too powerful and the water spouts up and goes beyond the birdbath so it drains in no time. Drains even faster if there is even a small breeze. Disappointed!Needs to have about 50% less power so that the water only reaches 6 to 8 inches in the air. I need to find something with a little less power. Will be returning.Would work really well for a pond or a very large birdbath. Still 4 stars because it does work well. That said the suction cups are useless.

Lovely addition to my deck
Great product that works well. You just have to make sure you clean the guck off the pump vent every day or so because algae and other crud will build up and the pump won't work. A q-tip is all you need. Bought this to ward off mosquito nests but it really adds a great aesthetic to our deck.

Fountain works well with some big BUTS...
The fountain works well and was a nice addition to aerate the water in my bird bath.Unfortunately there are two issues that combined to make it impractical for my purposes.1). The suction cups intended to hold it in place are much too small.2). The water level range required for it to work is too narrow. It is a Catch 22 situation:- Making the water level low enough for the suction cups to engage means the water level soon drops due to evaporation and some water spraying outside the birdbath due to wind. This then stops the fountain until more water is added.- Making the water level deeper does not help. The suction cups will not hold so the unit floats to the edge of the bird bath; water loss over the side via the spray is increased; water level drops surprisingly quickly and the fountain stops working until water is added.I really wanted to like this fountain but poor design engineering makes it too labour intensive to operate.Returned for refund.

So so
Don’t really like that there is no on/off switch so the fountain works on battery mode whenever it is charged and there is light. It will not work after sunset on battery mode unless there is a light source (artificial light source works). The solar fountain floats and there is no way to tether it causing lots of water spillage in a bird bath and having to be frequently refilled. We use it on ‘bubble mode’ to minimize spillage. The water height is around 8-10 inches on sprinkler mode for us in a bird bath. Nowhere near what they stated. The solar fountain is better compared to the ones with no battery backup but still needs improvement.

Great Solar fountain for a bird bath!
I purchased this solar fountain in the early spring and have been using it since March. It took some trial and error to get it working sustainably the way I wanted. The instructions that come with it aren't the best and the pictures of the different fountain heads are small and hard to see which one does what. I was looking for a more of a "burbling" effect rather than a spray. More water noise. I finally figured out just to use the shortest attachment with the least spray holes. As others have written, the suction cups just won't stay stuck on most surfaces. I happened to have 3 ceramic "frog" plant container feet that I placed around the edge of the fountain to keep it grounded. This has kept it in place so that it doesn't empty the bird bath and it looks kind of cool too! The built in battery will keep the fountain going long after the sun isn't hitting it anymore. Plus it will automatically shut off if there is too little water, thus saving the pump. Only 4 stars just because of the suction cups and skimpy instructions.
