Dishwasher Cutlery Silverware Basket Holder Grey, 9 5/16 X 5 1/4 X 9 3/4 Inches

Back in the late 80’s I purchased an off-brand ISE (In-Sink-Erator) dishwasher on the recommendation of a Mom-and-Pop appliance store. Made by Kitchen-Aid, it was almost identical to the more expensive brand, and was made with a metal vs plastic interior. (It’s still going strong after 32 years of hard use, and It should be good for many more years to come!) The disappointing feature, for me, was the silverware basket, which was long and narrow and could not accommodate larger utensils— constantly tipping over when adding anything to it. This Universal cutlery basket takes up little room, holds a larger number of utensils, and is sturdy— whether full or half-empty. The optional handle does make it tall, but my upper rack is able to tilt on either side, so that wasn’t an issue in my case. (Make sure to check the measurements listed in the product description.)As for the handle, it snapped on with little effort, and I find it preferable to a no-handle version. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Came quickly and packaged well. I like my new GE dishwasher but I should have noticed before purchasing it that it had a narrow silverware basket! It works fine for daily use, but after a big family gathering, it barely held the utensils. I found this basket online and whenever we have extra company, it is handy to use along with the one that came with the dishwasher. I just take off the handle and set it on the bottom rack and it stays in place. By doing this, I take up a bit of space that could be used for dishes, but it's a good tradeoff for me. I would recommend this basket.

Good quality but didn’t work in dishwasher it was bought for. Bought for a friend and she kept it for a different use.

Perfect universal application. This does not specifically fit my model but after bending a few tines down it fits perfectly in the front left corner. I mention this in case any of you need a replacement and are unsure if it will fit. You can just bend the tines down and set the basket on top. The added benefit to doing this is a small amount of extra space beneath the basket which gives a buffer between anything poking through and the jet arm.

Our dishwasher prongs are slightly too large for the holes in the bottom of this product. Other than that it hold them in there and the silverware gets clean.

So not all dishwashers are made the same. I did not measure the actual space for the basket in my dishwasher, so this is too long. It seems to be a fine basket, I just can't use it.
