The product is appreciated by me when used sparingly to protect a few vulnerable plants from slugs and snails. These include emerging tulips and establishing seedlings. Most of my plants can cope with slugs and snails and I feel this is the best approach. Grow plants the molluscs do not like. I knocked off a star for the following reason. As my photo shows the product lid is not capable of withstanding compression in transit and the product was entirely loose within the jiffy bag. Some pellets had also leaked out. I have suggested to the seller that additional sealing of the lid may be needed but I don't yet know if this is feasible. My photo shows the contents of the jiffy bag emptied into my plastic mixing bowl. The new packaging comprises a cardboard tube with a plastic lid. The old packaging, also pictured in the background of my photo, was all plastic and had a much more secure lid that had to be pinched to open. I will reuse this older style container.

I use this in the greenhouse and under netting to kill slugs and snails. It certainly works. I try not to use it in the open garden as I want to avoid harming any wildlife.

Follow instructions to leave no gaps that slugs can crawl through. Put onto damp soil so theydont roll off the bit where you want them to lie. Also make sure soil level flat for same reason, or press a little trench for them to sit in. They do change appearance as they get rained/watered on, this is normal. Might need to do a 2nd application later on, but 2 lots should do all summer. Used for years. OK for pets and visiting hedgehogs

Easy to use on our strawberry patch, not one fruit has been eaten whereas most were eaten by slugs or snails last year !

I know these work because it's what we always use. BUT....I wish they were packed more securely..Others have mentioned the same problem. The lid had come off the container and half the contents had come out (see photo). There was also a small hole in the box so some had come out in my post box..Full marks for slug pellets, zero marks for packaging. The containers just need a strip of sellotape to keep the lid on.
