I really like the size of this solar panel and the options for setting the panel in place. The pumps are tiny, but I was expecting that. A single pump works perfectly for my small fountain set up. I actually bought the system with 2 pumps - in case one pump gave out early. It seemed like the better deal. So far, so good with the first pump. Something you should know is that this set up has lousy instructions. That said, it wasn't difficult to set up and get going. Overall, the system is simple and easy to use. Many reviews have said that the solar panel is strong enough to run the pump on a cloudy day. I guess it depends on your definition of "cloudy". My pump will run on a hazy day, with less height to the fountain spray, but it stops when a random cloud blocks the sun to the panel or when my shadow crosses over the panel. Some systems have issues with the pump re-priming itself and restarting after it shuts down. The pump I got with this system restarts itself without any issues - works like a champ. My pump is submerged into a completely enclosed area in the fountain, so my water source doesn't get dirt, leaves, or wind blown debris in it. I also change my fountain water weekly. I haven't needed to put my pump into the small mesh bag that comes with the system. If your fountain, or very small pond, has potential to get dirt, leaves, and wind blown debris, you'll need to use the small mesh bag for your pump - to keep the pump from getting clogged and ruined. I've had my solar pump system up and running for a month now and I love it! I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this system. I feel like I got what I needed for my fountain at a reasonable price. And, I have an extra pump, if I need it! Win, win!

I have been doing solar fountains for 5 years and though most of them are made in China, I have bought duds, but your best purchase is Lewisia by far. I bought 2 of these 5 watt double pump units and set them up in just a few minutes. Though there is no battery back up, I prefer it that way and they do keep running with minimal sun. My 4 pumps are running wonderfully on 4 individual fountains and minimal daily maintenance keeps them running very well. One minor feature which becomes a major improvement is the tiny net bag for each pump. It really changes things where dirt buildup occurs on the pump filter. I have a previous Lewisia of the same little pump that is still going strong after 3 years. Don't think you are buying a 1000 dollar pump but enjoy what this little gem can do at a very reasonable price!!!

Controls two pumps. But only when it wants to. One pump works all the time. The other one only works when disconnect and reconnect it a couple times. Maybe just a faulty pump. But at least one works like it’s supposed to.

It seems to wrk very well when you have the sunlight, It has reached a height of about 3 feet when fully charging, both at the time. We have trees blocking sun during day, it doesn't spray all day, only when it can catch some rays. I use it for a bird bath, they are scared away when it is spraying. Amazed it works this well. We will see.

Needs direct sunlight, but the pumps will shoot water about three feet up in the air if you use the packaged attachments. Without any attachments, the pumps will still shoot water a couple inches high and keep water circulating. The pumps will bog down if the intake gets clogged with debris, but that's to be expected. I put this in a bird bath, and the birds are definitely fans.

I am very satisfied with these solar pumps.I set up a small fountain in front of the yard where birds come daily to bathe.The sun comes up, hits the solar panels and the birds come for their morning bath.No issues, no degradation in water flow. Just clean when needed.

Good product for the price

It’s a great idea but only works in direct sunlight, if any shape it stops even if you just walk by the panel not sure how it would be good for koi pond as it doesn’t keep running, wishful I find one that can stay on longer yet solar, maybe with batteries and an on off switch

very good solar pump set works well just wish the cords where a bit longer but would buy again.
